Your guide meets you at your hotel lobby in Urumqi at 9:30 AM. Private vehicle transfers you to the Heaven Lake tourist center. From the center, you board a regional sightseeing bus for the final 30-minute ascent to the lake at 1,907 meters elevation. Heaven Lake covers 4.9 square kilometers and is surrounded by Tianshan peaks. You have three options: Shoreline walk around the lakeshore (included) Boat ride (included, weather-dependent) Hiking descent from lake to mountain base (requires moderate to strong fitness) Lunch is provided at the lake facility.
