The route follows mountain roads through the provinces of Benguet, Ifugao, and Mountain Province, connecting colonial-era architecture and museums with pre-Hispanic burial practices and agricultural landscapes. Transport is by private vehicle throughout, with stops at archaeological and cultural sites.

Drive north to Mount Data, the halfway point to Banaue, with stops for sightseeing and photography. Continue ascending to Sagada and check in at local accommodation.
3Sagada Caves, Bontoc Museum & Journey to BanaueBanaue · Sagada's burial caves · Museum of Mountain Culture
Visit Sagada's burial caves to see hanging coffins, a centuries-old Ibaloi practice. Continue to Bontoc's Museum of Mountain Culture for insight into indigenous lifeways. Then drive south to Banaue, settling into accommodation amid the rice terraces.

The morning includes a half-day tour of a native village and the Banaue Rice Terraces, which cover the mountains in a stepped agricultural system constructed by hand over centuries. The rest of the afternoon and evening remain unscheduled. Accommodation continues in Banaue.
